My apologies for
the lateness and brevity of this newsletter
.. pressure of work is my excuse!
Super One
As an event hosted by us for the first time it was always
going to be a challenge. Never the less it was a great success
with the paddock coping well with the large entry (149 drivers),
the circuit was well received by the competitors with only
two red flag incidents. One was nothing but the other involving
a senior max driver resulted in damage to his lower back.
Knowing karters he will be back racing soon.
A Massive Thank You goes out to all who helped make the event
a success. Anne Laws with Bob & Liz Shipman did a huge
amount of work to get the job done. All the circuit staff
stuck at the task of marshalling three days of racing for
which, also, they deserve my thanks.
All Lap Records were broken over the course of the weekend.
As the rubber went down on Saturday (once the circuit dried
up!) lap times started to fall. The new Lap records are -

Congratulations to WLKC member Lee Bourner who had a career
best result finishing 11th in the Mini Max final. Commiserations
to Jay Taylor and Max Coates who both had a nightmare in the
finals but Jay did at least end up second fastest in his final
as he chased the rest of the grid once back on the tarmac.
Will Allen was the best WLKC driver in seniors finishing 19th
overall.
The Fun Meeting
Resumes this Sunday being the first Sunday in the month. Michael
Fish is promising warm, sunny weather so the grids should
be good!
June MSA Meeting
Is on Sunday 18th June. Exclusive Saturday practice starts
at 2 pm running to 8 pm in the evening.
Security of Equipment
Sadly four visitors to Warden Law found out the hard way that
one must keep tools and equipment secure at all times. Leaving
generators standing adjacent to their vans without a security
chain makes it too easy to pick them up and disappear. Please
invest in locks and chains to safeguard your gear at Warden
Law AND any other circuit you visit.
