Owner Driver Practice
Practice sessions for owner drivers need some explaining ! KNE had to stop mixing hire karts and privately owned karts as it goes against national safety guidelines. As a result Saturday practice as we ran it last year has ended. To allow owner drivers as much access as possible we have introduced more sessions during the week. How ever as hire karts and owner drivers cannot be on the circuit at the same time it is still worth checking by phone before you travel to find out how much track time you can expect. You can practice Mondays from 9 am until 4 pm and Tuesday’s to Friday inclusive from 9 am until 7 pm, How ever we occasionally take bookings for groups during these hours so please ring to check. We are flexible re charges depending on the track time you will get.
WLKC Saturday practice remains as last year i.e. exclusive use in sessions with a one hour lunch break. The first Saturday of the year resulted in a total of 90 mins track time for Cadets with the same for all Rotax PLUS a further 80 minutes of track time for all classes in the afternoon. Visitors testing at Warden Law commented on how pleased they were to get so much track time compared with other circuits elsewhere. Why not plan your diary to make full use of this exclusive practice day ?
Saturday evenings are generally quite so we are intend making this time available to owner drivers. This would normally be from 5.30 pm until 9.30 pm every Saturday except the WLKC Saturday. We are planning to floodlight the bottom section of the circuit to allow practice well into the evenings. We would still suggest that you phone to check availability.
February MSA Meeting
A fabulous entry of Senior Max promised a good days racing which is what we got ! The standard of driving was good with no incidents or red flags. The lack of Cadet entries was and is a concern. Please let me ( or any committee member ) know your thoughts as to the reason why.
Drivers Briefings
It has been suggested that parents should attend drivers briefing where possible to familiarise themselves with the instructions being given to the drivers.
Reserved Bays
WLKC has some large meetings coming up which will mean that some club members turning up only on the Sunday may find that they are some distance from the grid. The club does have a reserved bay system which you may wish to use. A bay with electricity is £ 25 and without electricity is £ 20.00 Ring the KNE office and speak to Anna to reserve a 8 metre x 6 metre bay.
WLKC web site
The new look website is no online and it includes a forum which should help the committee keep in touch with the club members. To view log on to www.wardenlawkartcliub.co.uk
The Fun Meeting
One suggestion as regards the seniors is that we revert to separating the WF from the Prokarts at the start. This would overcome any differences in performance between the two classes from a standing start.
Signing on continues to be a problem for Quinton as regards the timing system. Obviously it takes some time to enter upto 100 drivers plus their Transponder numbers before practice gets under way. The system does not allow us to enter late arrivals easily. As we know the habitual late arriver you ( they ) must know who you are as well. So please make an effort to sign on as your first job if you arrive on site after 9 am.
Site work
We are intending to install a drain around the Dog Leg area in the next couple of weeks. This may restrict access to the full circuit while the work is being done. If it may be a problem for you then please ring us before travelling.
