Transponders

May I apologise to all of you re the timing at the Fun meeting which took a little time to sort out. How ever the problems have been identified as follows-

i. Signing on will start at 8.30 am and end at 9.45 am. Signing on late prevents us from loading the computer prior to practice getting underway

ii. Duplicate kart numbers – we will in future check kart numbers at signing on. Please keep your number for the year so that we can keep regulars on file.

iii. New transponders will be available for sale next month. In addition KNE will give
(hire) you a transponder at signing on for you to keep for the day. We have 60
available to hire …. first come… first served.
Do not “give away/ lend” the transponder to anyone else. If you do not return it or it
comes back damaged we will be asking you for £150 for a new one.

iv. If using your own transponder please make sure you give us the correct number. Our system “freezes” if an unknown transponder registers on the system.

All classes will be timed as from the 10th July meeting. How ever it will only work if you abide by the points listed above.

Practice Times for the Fun meetings
9.00 am All cadets 9.15 am Mini & Junior Max’s
9.30 am Senior Max 9.45 am All 4 strokes

Tyre Softening Chemicals

A circular has gone out from the MSA regarding the illegal use of tyre softeners. It has detailed the precise procedures for officials to follow when they “seize” tyres for further testing. If followed correctly then the MSA believes that enforcing the regulations is possible. Consequently the tyre “sniffer” will be used at Warden Law in the future.

WTP and Hondas

Several parents believe that their driver is held back by the kart in front if it has a different engine to theirs. As I understand it the argument is that different engines are quicker on different parts of the circuit. So in an attempt to keep everyone happy we will split the Cadets with a 100 metre plus gap between the two grids at the start of the race. The quickest driver’s engine type in qualifying will determine which class goes first.

HRS

Any new Rotax engine bought between 1st June and the 31st August 2005 will be sold with 12 months warranty. Further details from Nigel or Tristram at HRS. This has been introduced to reestablish confidence in the Rotax product.

WLKC MSA Meeting on the 17th July 2005

a. Any driver wishing to enter both the WTP Challenge and the Club Championship must enter both as the races will be run separately.
b. All entrants should be aware that pressure on paddock space will be at a premium as we have the WTP Challenge, 210 Challenge, the NKF and the club regulars. Please ring the KNE office and book paddock space. Each bay is 8 metres x 6 metres with reserved space being £25 or £35 with electricity. Reserved bays are allocated on arrival. We will supervise the paddock parking
up to 10pm on the Friday evening and from 8am on the Saturday.
