Presentation Night
The Presentation Night at the George Washington hotel was
over subscribed and, I am told, a great night out! Photographs
are now being posted out by Ann Laws to the winners with reprints
available if needed. Congratulations to all those who received
trophies with special praise to Tony Armstrong (Senior Max)
who won the club's "Driver of the Year" award. Many
thanks for the generosity towards the club from Dean Ritchie
(annual testing), Martin Ramsden (annual testing) and Neil
Rowntree (HRS Team Drive) in successfully bidding for the
"promises" on offer. Thanks must also go to the
club secretary, David Parker, for all his work on organising
the evening so well.

As many of you know HRS
are now the importers of CRG karts into the U.K. Tristram
decided to launch CRG at Autosport and did so in style.
Their stand won "best in show" award and the
lady in black attracted a lot of attention from the press.
The HRS team is currently in Lanzarotte for the Rotax
World Championships where Tristram is driving the RM1
kart. Judging by qualifying (today Thursday) he is looking
at a podium finish. |
Site Work at Warden Law
Work at the circuit is going ahead with gusto. Three corners
have had Ecoblock laid to prevent erosion of the grass. Short
term the work has left soil close to the circuit but this
will be seeded as soon as the weather warms up. New lockers
are being installed in the club room along with both the male
and female toilets being re decorated. Additional protection
is being installed around the marshal posts on the circuit
along with a gantry on the start line for the starter to stand
on. A general tidy up is also underway which will include
enlarging the compound around the skips to prevent wind blown
litter.
WLKC Membership
Membership renewal is due now for the 2005 season at a cost
of £35.00. As well as a £5 reduction on our practice
fees for WLKC members, each member will still receive a monthly
newsletter with a list of dates to avoid and dates to remember.
We have now started a weekly email informing members of our
opening hours etc. So if you have an email address please
let us have it.
The Fun Meeting
A few points worth noting for the coming year. We now have
a Heavy class in Senior Max being 177 kg as well as the normal
162 kg (up 2 kg from last year). Tyres are as for the MSA
including wets. Points will only be awarded to those drivers
and karts who are fully compliant with the KNE Fun Series
regulations. Copies of the 2005 regulations are enclosed
..
please contact Ian Lawson if you have any queries.
The Code of Conduct for testing at Warden
Law was posted out last month. Please read it as it forms
the basis of the agreement between you and KNE whilst you
use the circuit. If you have not received a copy please ask
for one when you next come to the circuit.
Race Meetings During 2005
The Fun meetings start on Sunday 6th February with the WLKC
meetings starting on Sunday 20th February. Entries are going
to be well up on last year with the Rookie Challenge, Super
one and ABKC Cadet "O" Plate all swelling grids.
Please, please, please get your entries in early for the MSA
meetings as the late penalty charge of £10 will be levied
on all entries received after the Monday prior to the meeting.
Payment must accompany the entry fee. Should you wish to reserve
a parking bay for a Warden Law Kart Club weekend, reservation
forms are available from reception - please ask for one on
your next visit.
Can I remind you that tyre additives and
fuel additives are illegal. As some of you will know two British
Championships were lost by drivers caught allegedly using
additives. 2005 will see continued efforts to catch drivers
who ignore the regulations. The club and KNE have invested
in the equipment needed to sample and test so please give
additives a miss.
