British Schools Karting Championship!

This Year's British Schools Karting Championship has got off to a superb start with over 600 teams entering Nationally
- Karting North East is well represented with almost 70 keen kart racing drivers.

2012 is the 4th year of the British Schools Karting Championship. In the first year of the championship, our first attempt, our team achieved 4th place, improving to 3rd place the following year. Last year was our best to date achieving 2nd out of almost 600 drivers!

We are confident that this year's championship will again see drivers from the North East prove they are the best kart drivers Nationally!

Best wishes to all challengers - let's hope the Karting North East Team are successful again!

Junior Circuit Upgrade at KNE!

The Junior Karting Circuit at Karting North East has undergone a complete refurbishment with a tighter chicane and far smoother edges around the circuit.

The Junior Karting Circuit is ideal for 8 - 16 years olds who want to start kart racing. It's a great way for children to get into karting and magnificent in building their confidence and safety awareness skill - it's also great FUN!

Karting North East provide a separate briefing room which is ideal for children's' parties it overlooks the junior circuit making which makes it perfect for parents to spectate.

The very first National Karting Elite league was held last weekend at the North East Circuit, Teesside Autodrome. This initiative is aimed at creating a national league with circuits throughout the UK entering teams and competing at various venues. Over 25 of the top UK circuits were represented and competed in 3 events; team sprint, individual and a team endurance race.

The three local drivers selected to represent Karting North East won every trophy available proving that our local drivers are amongst the best in the country. Well done to Tim Knox, Jay Taylor and Eliott Cotton who were clear winners of the morning sprint series. Jay Taylor was the comfortable winner of the individual race before the team notched up a hat trick by winning the 3 hour team endurance by almost a full lap!

This was a superb performance bearing in mind some of the Country's top drivers were competing and is a clear signal that we will be the dominant force once the league gets underway early in 2012.

New Karts - They're Here!

Following the sale of Karting North East in February, the results of a massive investment are already apparent. The appearance of the venue is now enhanced with a new tarmac covered car park and entry road, relocation of external storage units together with an upgraded security system. New kerbs and white lining on the circuit, as well as new tyre walls, have improved both safety and appearance.

But the icing on the cake will be the arrival of a brand new fleet of 30 karts due this month. We expect the new upgraded Sodi karts to be far quicker than the existing fleet due to improvements in handling and responsiveness. Our 1.2 kilometre British Championship circuit will provide a perfect challenge for both novices and experienced petrol heads to sample what these karts can do, putting the 64.7 second lap record seriously under threat. Do you have the skill to take on the challenge and be top of the leader board?

You can be amongst the first to sample the newest hire kart fleet on one of the UK's most challenging circuits. The fleet are expected to be ready to race by the 20th of May with booking essential. It's advisable to book your group in early to get the dates and times you prefer.

Warden Law Trials Club

Karting North East is pleased to announce the opening of an exclusive trials practice area, open seven days a week, dawn till dusk at Warden Law. Off-road bikes have operated alongside our British Championship kart circuit for many years now, and following development of the site the off road area will now provide a practice facility exclusively for trials bikes.

Extensive work has been carried out including introducing more rocks and obstacles to give riders of all capabilities the chance to improve their skills. More improvements are planned on an ongoing basis. We aim to introduce tuition from experienced riders during the year.

As a result, no other bikes or quads are permitted, with the aim of providing a safer environment and one that will keep our neighbours happy.

Membership to the new Warden Law Trials Club is available for 2011 and costs only £15. Members can enjoy use of the facilities for £10 per visit (£15 to non-members). Our café is open for both hot and cold food every weekend in our centrally heated clubhouse. Jet wash facilities are available for a nominal cost.

We aim to monitor and introduce new features on an ongoing basis and invite any suggestions from users on ways in which we can further improve the facilities.
