Down at the Farm is a real working
farm located in 20-acres of beautiful rural County Durham
countryside close to Houghton-le-spring - just a few minutes
away from Sunderland, Durham, Washington, Middlesborough and
Newcastle. Offering amazing panoramic views across the coast,
Wearside and Tyneside with the Cheviot Hills visible to the
distant north, the farm is easy to get to from most North
East England locations.

Down at the Farm was Inspired by the two young children of
Catherine and William Weightman - the company founders. Our
aim is to offer you and your children a unique and educational
day out - A Real Farm Experience for the Whole Family, the
first of its kind in the region.
Down at the Farm aims to provide families
and schools with an interactive and informative learning experience
and features a wealth of farm based facilities, accessible
to all ages and abilities.
Visitors will be able to enjoy experiences
including 'meet the farmer' trails, talks on how food is grown
and bottle feeding the farm's animals. Among a range of traditional
species, Down at the Farm will also be home to some more unusual
breeds such as red deer, wallabies and highland cattle
