Junior Race Night - June 2006

With race entries increasing, and the track dry, I knew the junior championship was going to be fast and furious, and I wasn't wrong!

Each driver competes in three heats in order to determine who will go through to the A, B or C final, so racing during the heats is always competitve and great fun to watch (and race in!).

Once all the heats were completed, Paul Westphal had a perfect 3 heat win, taking pole for the A final, closely followed by Jake Forster and Chris Barron.

The A final was very close at the start with Jake taking an early lead, with Paul in 2nd and Richard Hoggins coming from 5th to 3rd.  Paul, knowing he had 3 laps to race, waited for the perfect opportunity to pass, and pass he did with a great move down the inside of the first bend to take the lead and also claim the lap record with a time of 55.109s.
