Community Training at KNE < BACK

- Feb 2007

There are many organisations that exist to focus on young people who have behavioural or social problems. They use alternative activities as a learning tool, and many take advantage of our Introduction to Karting Training Programme. It's a 6 week course, 2 hours each week, divided into an hour's tuition followed by an hour on the circuit. Different aspects of Karting are covered each week including safety, driving conditions, driving lines as well as consistency and smoothness.

Pupils sit an examination at the end to test their competence. If successful they can then qualify for the Kart Maintenance course which looks in finer detail at different types of karts and how they work. The course can cater for up to 10 students at once and is available to young people between 11 and 15 years old.

For youth groups wanting to run their own kart training programme, Karting North East runs a Community Leader's Training course, which upon completion, allows group leaders to bring young people to use their own karts on the circuit. We can arrange a personalised quote for the purchase of karts, safety equipment and use of circuit.  In addition we can arrange for storage of your kart at the circuit together with kart maintenance, depending on your specific requirements.

We have over 10 years experience in dealing with many disadvantaged young people, with the aim to help steer them towards education through our training courses.  We believe that karting is the ideal tool to encourage regular attendance and group participation, with the emphasis on learning, safety and of course fun.
